I told you I was going to actually blog!

Well, I got today on my mail one of the items I had been waiting for a very long long time:

A new pair of circle lenses!

A model that I'm sure most of you have already (because I'm aware I'm a bit late to the trend, lol) but that I've loved with all my consumerist heart from the day they were out (which is one year ago, yes):

Princess Mimi in Sesame Grey!

They're 15.0 mm and come in a variety of powers (I got them in plano though).

I got them from LensVillage, a shop I discovered not so long ago.

They're super nice, and ship pretty fast too!

I like having shop crushes like this, haha!

I wanted to make something different for this review (seeing that I had such a long hiatus and so) and I thought that I could add this to the desire I had of starting a vlog. So hey, after the obligatory picture review you've got a video version of it (where you'll get to see a very nervous version of myself, lol)!

First of all, the packaging. Isn't it like über cute?

You get with the lenses an instruction manual (yes, I know) and a cute animal case!

And tada! I've always heard that you've got to keep the lenses with some new solution for a while before actually wearing them so... I managed to keep them... 3 hours! Yay me!

So... What do you think?

As I say on the video I've kind of fallen in love with them because well, I wasn't used to colour lenses (except for... well, brown) and I love the way they seem to soften my features. They also don't look to alien-ish nor chameleonic, if you know what I mean lol.

As for comfort... Well, I've worn them from 12 am to 8 pm without getting my eyes sore or blurry, so I'd say that's pretty good, isn't it?

Disclaimer: It's my first vlog ever. I AM nervous. I DO blink a lot and say a lot of "ehs" and "uhs" and "okays". But I did it with all my love. And I know I'm fugly, I've got mirrors lol. I just wanna have a bit of fun.

PS: One of the reasons that has made me choose vlogging, besides the fact that seeing on live how does a product actually look is usually better to grow an opinion is that it isn't as time consuming as working on a written and documented review, and as busy as I am with college I don't really have the time to do as much pic editing and taking care of details as I did, so... Well, I'm sorry in part for it because I feel like I'm "working" less, but you know... I still love y'all.

PS2: Now I should get some new lower lashes. And clothes. But I have to lose some weight before that. Sigh.

Veis cómo iba a postear algo con sentido e iba a retomar el blog?

Bueno, de buenas a primeras os traigo una pequeña review de algo que me ha llegado al buzón esta mañana y me ha hecho traer una sonrisa!

Mis nuevas, maravillosas, estupendísimas y fantabulosas Princess Mimi Sesame Grey.

Son de 15.0 mm de diámetro y se ofrecen también con graduación!

Vale, debo ser la última que se las ha comprado, pero es que son demasiado molonas y me han gustado desde el día en que salieron.

Lo cierto es que quería hacer algo nuevo para esta review, con todo eso de que he renovado el blog y tal, y he querido aprovechar que tenía unas ganas enormes de meterme en esto del vlog (que cuando me he puesto a grabar se me han ido de golpe xDDDD) para unificar todo un poco. Además de que bueno, siendo lentillas siempre queda más guay ver cómo quedan al ""natural"", porque por más fotos que pongas nunca será lo mismo.

Pero bueno, ante todo la ristra de fotos obligatoria de toda review:

Primero os quiero enseñar la monada de paquetito que me ha llegado.

No había tenido nunca trato con esta tienda, LensVillage y estoy muy contenta con el resultado. Son rápidos y majos, echadle un ojo si necesitáis renovar el stock porque a mí por lo menos me han ido bastante bien.

Dentro de este paquetito venía lo siguiente:

Y después de dejarlas un ratejo (te dicen 24h... Claaaro. Creo que las he podido dejar... 3 xD) en líquido nuevo me las he puesto.

Por el vídeo digo que no tengo ni idea de la comodidad porque me las acabo de poner (sí, me acababa de peinar pero ha resultado pasar suficientemente tiempo para que el volumen se me fuese a la porra), pero ahora ya os lo puedo contar. He estado prácticamente 8h con ellas sin ningún tipo de molestia. La verdad es que las lentillas de GEO son bastante cómodas en general.

Y nada, supongo que ahora que por fin he podido renovar lentillas les tocará a las pestañas inferiores. Eso sí, estando más pobre que las ratas probablemente veáis antes posts sobre análisis de trends en revistas más que otra cosa.

PD: Una de las otras razones por las que he hecho el review en vídeo, aparte de todo lo dicho anteriormente, es porque me resulta mas rápido de hacer que dedicarme a un post extensivo en texto y foto, teniendo que editar todas las fotos más allá de recortar. La verdad es que me sabe un poco mal porque tengo la impresión de estar currándomelo menos, pero lo cierto es que con el poco tiempo que me deja la uni bastante es que haga algo. Así que perdones y gracias <3

Ah, finally!

Well, I've been struggling with this review from it's conception!
I really didn't know where to start and which path would be the best to take so I asked myself:
"What is to be said about a pair of lenses? What could I add with my opinion that could help anyone take that decision?"
And answering these questions will then be my path to review this pair of lenses!

Por fin!
Llevo unos días peleándome con ésta review desde su creación. Realmente no tenía ni idea de qué camino tenía que seguir para analizar un producto como éste y me estaba suponiendo una cuesta importante, así que hice más o menos lo que siempre hago, preguntarme a mí misma. "Qué se debería decir de un par de lentillas? Qué puedo añadir yo con mi opinión que pudiese ayudar a alguien que estuviese dudando si comprarse éstas lentillas o no?"

Y ha sido contestar a éstas preguntas mi inspiración para analizar éste par de lentillas!

Why did I choose this lenses?
Por qué elegí éstas lentillas?

First, the originality of their design. They're my second pair of lenses, being GEO Angel Brown my first ones and I wanted something really different, design and effect wise.
In my opinion, these lenses are, with difference, the ones whose effect is more noticeable and erm... different! XD
Ante todo, por la originalidad del diseño. Es mi segundo par de lentillas, siento GEO Angel Brown las primeras y quería algo realmente distinto, por lo que al diseño se refiere.
En mi opinión el diseño de éstas lentillas es mucho más destacable y distinto que el de las demás, con diferencia.

I mean that while the difference between Angels, Wings, Barbies, Adults and about every other well known pair of lenses that look more or less natural (that I know of) is may more subtle and you might have to do a lot of checks and research to find out what effect does this or that model, you will instantly know how do Candy lenses look.
Lo que quiero decir es que mientras las Angel, las Wing, las Barbie o las Adult por nombrar lentillas de las más conocidas (dentro de lo natural) son entre sí mucho más similares y para poder escoger unas u otras hay que mirar muchas más fotos, "investigar" mucho y fijarse en un montón de variables para saber exactamente qué efecto hacen y qué respuesta pueden tener, se puede saber exactamente cómo van a quedar o cómo se van a ver las Candy.

How do I feel with them?
Cómo me siento con ellas?

Well, I like them. I feel instantly dolly-fied when I'm wearing them, I'd say that they enlarge more than the Angel do, and I'd say it isn't just because they're bigger. They don't feel too artificial either. Having only one other pair of lenses I can't really compare that much, but... You know, I feel it.
Bueno, me gustan. Siento que te dan ése toque de muñeca a tus ojos (lol, esto se dice así? XD) de forma casi instantánea. También me parece que aumentan mucho más que las Angel, en proporción a la diferencia de tamaño que tienen. Tampoco se sienten muy artificiales (ni muy obvias, siempre que el color sea similar).

Aunque teniendo sólo otro par de lentillas realmente no tengo mucho con qué comparar, pero... Lo sé. Lo puedo sentir.

(Note on the light of the pic: It's the mixture of the backlight of my screen and my desktop light, which happen to have a very different color temperature, hence the weirdness of the white balance)
(Sobre la luz de la imagen: Hay una mezcla de luces con temperaturas de color muy distintas, cosa que hace que el color de la imagen sea bastante difícil de corregir y quede algo raro. Lo siento!)

Here is a very unflattering make-up-less picture of the typical One In-One Out circle lens shot for review.
I wanted to do it without make-up so you could clearly perceive the difference it makes.
Aquí tenéis una foto bastante poco favorecedora de mí sin maquillaje haciendo el típico Un Ojo Sí-Un Ojo No de las reviews de lentillas. Me gustaba hacerla sin maquillaje para que se pudiese ver de forma más clara y directa el efecto que hace la lentilla en el ojo.

You can see that the eye where I'm wearing the lens looks fuller (which it is) and bigger (which it really isn't, and it's just an illusion). The color blends well enough with my dark eyes, even if with the artificial light of the picture my darker background can still be noticed.
Podéis ver que el ojo en el que llevo la lentilla se ve mucho más lleno (porque lo está) y mucho más grande, cosa que no es, pues lo podemos comparar con el otro y ver que realmente son iguales. El color se funde bastante bien con mis ojos oscuros, aunque con luz artificial aun se puede percibir el fondo más oscuro de mi ojo.

As you can see in the next two pics (flash pic and outdoors lighting pic) the background gets blurrier with natural light, so the overall effect (color-wise) is somewhat lighter.
Cómo podéis ver en las dos siguientes fotos (con flash y con luz exterior), el fondo se difumina mucho más con luz natural, por lo que el efecto general (por lo que respecta al color) es algo más claro.

Luckily this is a pain I won't have anymore now that I've got my new DW liner -which happens to be as good as everyone says-!)
(Ignorad el eyeliner mierdoso, vale? >.< XD Por suerte no tendré que sufrir esto más con mi nuevo eyeliner DW, que resulta ir tan bien como todo el mundo dice!)

Beyond aesthetics, I think they're comfortable. I don't notice they bigger diameter, and I don't really feel them for quite a lot of hours. They're easy to wear, easy to put and easy to remove.
Más allá de la estética, creo que son cómodas. Su mayor diámetro es prácticamente imperceptible y realmente puedo llevarlas durante horas sin darme cuenta. Son fáciles de llevar, fáciles de poner y fáciles de quitar.

What would I say to anyone that wants to buy these lenses?
Qué le diría a alguien que quisiera comprarse éstas lentillas?

Go for it. I had wanted them for a long time and I'm happy I got them. I will probably get them again, and I wouldn't mind having them in different colors either, and I'd say this is a great indicator of how much does someone like a pair of lenses!
Píllatelas. Yo las quise durante mucho tiempo y estoy realmente contenta de haberlas comprado. Seguramente vuelva a comprármelas y no me importaría tenerlas en distintos colores, lo cual creo que es un gran indicador del grado de satisfacción que se pueda tener con unas lentillas!

Jill Stuart 'mix blush compact' Review

My second (make-up related) Christmas gift by my other half was this lovely blusher which I had been wanting for a really long time. I was really in love with its cuteness case and applicator and how the colors looked like!
Being a pink blush lover, I obviously asked for shade 01: Baby blush!

Pues como ya fui diciendo por ahí, aquí está la review de mi segundo regalito (de maquillaje) de Navidades (cortesía de mi mitad querida). Hacía mucho mucho tiempo que lo quería, siempre me había encantado la presentación (el nivel de detalle de los brillantitos y los gravados es una pasada!) y después de verlo muy a menudo me decidí a añadirlo a mi wishlist. Cómo amante de los coloretes rositas que soy, me apunté el tono 01: Baby blush!

As you can see, the case and the brush are pretty and princess-y like the most. It's really beautiful and it stands out, BUT it gets dirty easily!
(See that fingerprint there? lol)

Cómo podeis ver, tanto la caja cómo el pincel son totalmente princesiles y preciosos. Destaca bastante PERO se mancha con mucha facilidad! (veis la huella? XD)

The brush is detachable and retractable. It smelled bad when I first got it out of the box but it had -and still has- an awesome touch (I'm not sure if it's synthetic or not though).

El pincel es separable y retráctil. Olía bastante mal al sacarlo por primera vez, pero tenía (y tiene) un tacto genial. No estoy segura de si es sintético o de pelo.

I'm NOT unhappy with it, even if its pigmentation level deceived me a bit. After a few days of using it I'm getting used to the way it looks and the right amount of blusher I've got to use and the colors/combinations that suit me better I'm starting to like it. I don't like how coral tones look on my skin, so I tend to use tones from 1 to 3 the most (and you can tell because the "flower" of the last one has kept its form way more!).

NO estoy insatisfecha con él, aunque el nivel de pigmentación me ha decepcionado un poco. Eso sí, después de estar usándolo unos días (11, jaja) me estoy acostumbrando a cómo pinta, a cuánto colorete usar y a qué colores o combinaciones me gustan más y me está empezando a gustar.
Eso sí, siguen sin gustarme los tonos coral en mi piel, así que cómo podeis ver por el desgaste de la "flor" los tonos que más uso son del 1 al 3!

I'd been delaying this for too long because I couldn't find a moment to take a pic of both at the same time, so I've decided to post it without the daylight swatch. It's in indoors light pics that blush tends to disappear, so it's not going to be such a bad indicative.
According to MAC, my skin tone is NC15.

He retrasado esta review precisamente por culpa de los swatches, pues quería encontrar un momento para hacer los de interior y los de exterior a la vez pero era incapaz, así que al final me he decidido a poner sólo éstos. De todas formas, es en las fotos de interior que el colorete parece desaparecer, así que ya va bien que nos muestre su efectividad en éstas condiciones!
Por cierto, según MAC mi tono de piel es NC15.

My overall (humble and inexpert) opinion:

It's beautiful and practical, since it easy to carry around without having to have a full arsenal of stuff with you.

The colors are pretty and shiny, and while you'll need (I do, at least) quite a good amount of blush to make it noticeable it'll look nice when it does.

The brush feels a bit big to carefully select each shade, but when you're using it it actually works and doesn't mix the colors (too much). It gets a bit dirty though.

Price is a huge drawback. I'm not sure if I would have bought this myself, since I'm on a tight budget. Now I know about them, I probably would have gone for a NARS blush (I'm saying this and if I don't own one yet, so I might take it back in a future, but I doubt it).

Mi humilde e inexperta opinión general:

Es precioso, práctico, y se puede llevar por ahí fácilmente porque apenas ocupa espacio.

Los colores son brillantes y bonitos, y aunque necesitarás un montón de producto para que se note, queda bastante bien cuando lo hace.

Al principio el pincel parece demasiado grande para coger cada tono sin mancharlo todo pero, no, funciona bastante bien! Eso es algo que me daba miedo! Se ensucia todo un poco, pero imagino que es normal.

Tiene un gran defecto, el precio. Yo no estoy segura de si me lo habría comprado, pues tengo un presupuesto ajustado y quizá no me hubiese compensado, por más bonitos que me parezcan el packaging (todo el rato dudo de si la caja y el pincel entran en packaging o no, jaja!) y los colores quizá me hubiese comprado un colorete de NARS antes (aunque no tengo ninguno y quizá me desdiga de éste punto en un futuro, pero me han hablado tan bien de ellos que dudo mucho que sea así!).

CandyDoll Mineral Powder Review

This Xmas my other half has taken a lot of care about my desires. He always does though.
From a lot of other wonderful gifts talking of which does not belong to this blog (but if you want me to talk about Bioware and such, tell me about it and I'll lovingly do!), I wanted to show you one of my precious:

Estas navidades mi otra mitad querida me ha regalado muchísimas cosas que llevo queriendo durante mucho tiempo (algunas de las cuales no corresponden a éste blog, así que cómo no me digáis que os apetece que hable de juegos y Bioware, las obviaré). Es el mejor! <3

Hoy os voy a enseñar una de ellas:

Tsubasa's CandyDoll Mineral Powder!

As you'd expect, the packaging is as great as product by itself.

Try to picture my face when I unwrapped the present and found out some freebies as well. This lovely strip comes with a tiny amount of all the blushers and highlighters you can have. As a drug dealer, Tsubasa is tempting us with trying her products so we can't live without them in the end. She's so evil, isn't she?

Como era de esperar, el packaging es tan genial como el producto en sí mismo. Ahora intentad imaginaros qué sorpresa me llevé cuando vi que venía con muestritas de colorete e iluminador! Tsubasa es como un camello, primero te lo hace probar para que luego no puedas vivir sin ello y piques!

Blushers are: Strawberry Pink, Peach Pink & Carrot Orange. Dunno about the name of the highlighters.
No tengo ni idea del nombre de los iluminadores!

Allright, now onto the powder.
Did I tell you that I love the packaging? I did? Allright, I love this packaging. I love every single packaging Tsubasa produces, I like the level of details she puts into doing what she does. I know there's an industry behind her, and that in the end this is just business, but I do not like the outcome of whatever all the other models do, so I'm pretty sure she's not just a puppet. (This is starting to sound like a rant. I'll keep the rant for a future post!)

Bueno, una vez vistas las muestricas, vamos al meollo. Me encantan todos los packagings de los productos que saca ésta mujer. Sé que algunas consideran a todas las modelos de éste mundillo (iba a decir a todas las modelos que sacan productos, pero me he dado cuenta que es en general) simples marionetas, cuerpos vacíos a merced de la industria. No quiero negar que hay una industria detrás, pero me gustaría poner en duda gran parte de ésas opiniones. Hay muchas modelos, muchas de ellas han sacado productos y se nota en todos ellos un toque personal. A mí me gusta la esencia que esta mujer imprime en las cosas. Más allá de eso, creo que tanto las modelos cómo las revistas son producto de ciertos individuos (ciertas individuas en general) que se han comprometido tanto con todo esto que han querido dedicar su vida profesional a ello. Cómo una shop staff con suerte. De todas formas dejo éste tema para otra ocasión, que acabo de decir que no quiero quejarme y al traducir me he vuelto a emocionar. XD

D'you know what? I don't really like this applicator. At first I thought it'd be wonderful, but somehow the distribution of the powder through all the applicator isn't uniform and it leads to having to rub a bit more than I'd like. Maybe it's more about how the holes were made than about the applicator itself, but I still don't like it.

Sabéis qué? No me gusta nada el pompón aplicador. Pensaba que sería genialoso y una pasada, pero por alguna razón el polvo no se distribuye uniformemente y acabo teniendo que restregármelo por toda la cara, además de tener que ir a coger producto demasiadas veces. Supongo que más que el aplicador en sí son los agujeros de la tapa, pero no me acaba de convencer. El pompón no parece tener nada malo, pero...

The powder is really really REALLY (I feel I can't stress that really enough) thin. I'm really scared of loosing it all if I ever remove the lid (if I ever THINK of removing the lid), but you've got to do something if you want to get some powder on the applicator. Okay, now I'm starting to feel clumsy. Maybe you wouldn't have issues with this, but I do.

Los polvos son MUY finos. Mirad cuantas veces he escrito "really" ahí arriba para daros cuenta de lo mucho que quiero resaltar que son muy finos. Parece que se te vayan a salir volando si te atreves, no, si piensas en atreverte a sacar la tapa. Pero claro, tienes que sacarlos de alguna forma, porque sino cómo te los vas a aplicar? Pues golpecitos, sacudidas (con la tapa de arriba XD) e ir probando. La verdad es que me hacen sentir un poco torpe. Quizá vosotras (vosotros) no tendríais problemas con esto!

As for the results, I'd say it does what it's supposed to, nothing more, nothing less. I was a bit disappointed when I realized it wasn't going to turn me into Tsubasa.
They do finish well, they keep your skin matte and smooth and they make sure your make up doesn't go away as easily as it'd go if you didn't use them. You wouldn't like to use a huge amount of them, because everything would start getting a bit too dry and cracked.

Sobre los resultados no tengo mucho más que decir que... Hacen lo que tienen que hacer, ni más ni menos. Me decepcioné un poco cuando me dí cuenta que no me iban a convertir en Tsubasa (ni a darme la piel que tiene en las fotos XD). Dan un buen acabado, mantienen la piel mate y de aspecto suave y se aseguran que tu maquillaje no se irá tan fácilmente como si no los usases. No es bueno usar demasiado porque resecan un poco y acaba todo como la típica ilustración que sale para ejemplificar una tierra árida en los libros de texto (vamos, cuarteado).

I haven't used them myself too much since I got them for Christmas, so I haven't had time to get myself a well thought out impression, but I'll re-review them if I feel this makes them no justice.

No los he usado demasiado (pues me los dió en Navidad -bueno, Nochevieja-), así que tampoc he tenido tiempo de formarme una opinión bien sopesada, pero esta es mi primera impresión. Si más adelante sintiese que lo que he dicho aquí no les hace justicia ya los re-reviewearé!
