Fashion post: Evolution January 2011

After some procrastination and some intensive study for the worst exam I've done in my life (Electricity and Electronics, we don't like each other, why couldn't you be nicer and let me go?) here's my fashion evolution post of the month.

I've got to say that while I've been trying to improve and to try new concepts, most of my outfits have been plain and casual, for the everyday stuff (pretty much to go to class). I don't mean it to be an excuse to get the tiniest bit lazier, but I wouldn't wear something that's more on the edge of... well, on the edge. No MA*RS to college, lol. (Well, MA*RS isn't really of my taste, but you know!).

Outfit 1:

To be honest, I don't really like this outfit at all! I find it really really plain and... plain.
The colors of the clothing, how dark everything looks and how simple and uninteresting the whole thing is makes me dislike this totally. I'm really considering removing this pic, lol. (But I won't! XD).
I'd say I like the elements by themselves, but not how the combination looks.
I was somewhat happy with the shape my hair got, but that's all I like about this one.
What would I do to improve it?
Maybe I'd change the tights for something lighter (so the boots would be more visible!), and the skirt for one with more volume, or some shorts.
I'd make the belt more visible, or maybe I'd add a bigger one, with some huge chains. (YES, there is a belt, lol)
No me gusta nada nada nada éste outfit!

Outfit 2:

While this one might look somewhat simpler, and I might not like how did the hair end up, BUT I like it way more than the first one!
I'm not sure about improvements, of course a different top (maybe one with more "interest") would add into it, but being a class outfit I'd say it's good the way it is.
You can love or hate turtle necks, I love them!
Maybe one of those d.i.a. belts I'll never be able to afford would make it look way better but... What wouldn't with one of those?!

Outfit 3:

Well, this is mainly to show you my first attempt at wearing Dolly Wink #6. I wore them _way_ below that where they should have been (at least the first bits, the ones that are closer to the corner of the eye), but I'm happy with the result. I look as tired as hell in that pic!
Hair is simple, make is simple. I'd like to try some lashes that are more spectacular with those. Like some of Diamond Lash Glamorous series! They're really cool! (And I've just ordered them!)

Yupi!

Outfit 4:

This is one of the outfits that I like to most for going to class, but I'm conscious that those jeans are a major flaw! They should be all torn and cut and destroyed! But I'll attempt that soon with the videotutorials I've got fav'ed in my twitter account. You should totally check them out if you wanna try something like this. I'll show you my results soon!
(Soon means after my finals, lol)

Outfit 5:

This is another of my favorite "casual" outfits for college. I'm a great fan of tight highs, and I'd say they play a great part in adding interest to an outfit. It's a pity you can't see the shoes because I really loved them, lol.

What I'd do to improve this is:
1-Working more in my hair.
2-Adding a _huger_ belt.
3-Changing the necklace by another that's more visible!
Oh, I've censored my eye instead of my mouth so you can't say there's always a heart in my mouth! :P

Outfit 6:

I just don't like that white head accessory! I don't even! D: Why did I buy it in the first place? No, I like it. I just don't like it there! What was I thinking? XD
It's just not the right color for the outfit (I've got the same bow in black, why did I use that on the first place? >-<) and I'm not sure that's the right accessory for my failed attempt of hairbuns, lol.

Anyway, I tried this because I wanted to dress somewhat different that I usually do. I've got many leopard stuffs in different colors, but I never get a coordination through because I don't feel them to be of my style. Maybe it's a bit too... hm... colorful for my taste! I was a lot into this kind of coordinations when I was younger, but my tastes are getting apart of that as I grow up. I'm not really sure why. Even though, I'm starting to like CoLu as time goes by. I'm not sure why, I don't really understand it. I guess that I still like it but I really don't like the way it looks on me!
I'm not totally unhappy with the result but it's just not my thing.

Outfit 7:

The outfit here is nothing to really talk about. I think I was wearing the mini torn skirt with some print tights I can't really recall. What I wanted to point out here is the make-up (hence the zoom!). I've been trying a more casual but still remarkable version of the now almost outdated droopy eye. I'd say that while the regular style is not really flattering for my eye shape, I've managed to get some enlargement here without ending up too... much. lol.

Outfit 8:

The whole point of this pic is to show you the hairstyle I attempted one night of boredom!
I don't really have much to say except that... What would you coordinate this top with? I've been thinking of some black shorts, tall boots and very wide net tights!
What do you think?

Outfit 9:

This is another attempt at trying something different than my usual style. I'm happier with this attempt than with the leopard top one, maybe because this appears as something more girly than the other one. What I said about turtlenecks above applies here too!
I'm rather happy with this attempt, since it's something simple but "effective". I'm also happier with how my hairstyle ended up.

-----
To sum up, my points to evolve for this moment on would be:
*Work more with hair! It'd be a good idea to try different hairstyles and arrangements.
*Even huger accessories, or more of them! And MORE hair accessories!
*More extreme eyelashes.
*Light legs, or light top+bottom (legwarmer or similars) when using dark tights.
Would you add something else from what you've seen here?

About the first point, I'm seriously thinking about making a self challenge of doing 10 different hairstyles for the next post. Of course, anyone who wants can subscribe to this challenge!
Let's say... 10 different hairstyles for the next two weeks? Ok, count on it, I'll do it! And if any of you wants to participate, I'm counting on you too!
As always, thanks for reading and everything!!

January sales GETS 1 & NYE's look

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
(Wasn't "Year Everyone" a trending topic in twitter this year?)

We've got plenty of new year posts around, so this won't be one of them.
I'm gonna talk about something great of the beginning of the year: January's sales.
It's true that the other day that I went cloth-hunting (lol) the sales hadn't actually started, BUT, there were a lot of lowered prices which allowed me to buy a few things.

One of this items is a jacket which totally suits the kind of jacket I had been spotting in my favourite magazines. I do have a huge collection of clippings of different kinds of jackets waiting to be posted (lazynesss) and you'll see what I mean when I say that they really helped me making my mind clear!

I'm pretty happy with my purchases.

I've also bought a couple necklaces and hair accessories since it's what I had been seeing that my outfits lacked the most. Even though I'll continue accessory-hunting another day because I know that I would have kept buying just flowers that day. You can't (at least it happens to me) buy so much stuff in one day because you'll probably end up with a lot of things that look pretty much the same!

AND (I don't have pics yet) I bought a lot of tights which I happen to love! I'll post pics as soon as I have them (and I'm not lazy). I'll probably just update this post, so if you're curious you should come back here to check (how pointless would it be to make a brand new post just to show some tights? I'll think about it. XD).

Finally:
NYE's look
Blurry pics are blurry. Bad pics are bad. I wish I had a proper way to take pics of what I wear. And maybe a compact camera to do all the camwhoring, because the SLR looks a bit too much for shooting a mirror. XD

The outfit is just a refined version of the last one of my outfit post. I was wearing some pumps you can't see with the shitty pic. I've got the feeling that the cardigan has gotten somewhat bigger, but I'm sure I haven't shrunk!

Speaking of poor quality, I just added an iPhone pic of how my hair ended the night!

Anyway...
Thanks for reading and happy new year once more!

New look! (aka going blonde)

This is what I looked like yesterday:

And this is what I look like tonight!

Yaaay, I'm going blonde!
I'm really happy with it, even if it's way darker than I wanted.
Will post a decent pic whenever I take one.

And...

Coming soon:
Jill Stuart - Mix Blush Compact (in baby blush shade)

Fashion progress (and evolution)

It hasn't been that much since I decided I enjoy gyaru fashion and I want to be a part of it. I've religiously tried to get the look every day (unless I got sick or you know, stuff like that) and while I've seen my own progress in terms of make up and hair and I really feel I'm getting there day by day, when it comes to clothing I feel totally clueless and lost. One of the reasons is that I need a lot of stuff that I don't have. I do have a huge lack of accessories and shoes which I try to solve day by day, but it takes time! (I can't spend like 6000€ one afternoon to get some basics lol)

So no matter how frustrated I might be at the plain-ness of my outfits or such, I need to learn day by day to coordinate and to know what does look good together (for both my taste and gal, that is) with what I have and what can be a "profitable purchase".

That said, I wanted to make a list of stuff that is fashionable nowadays which I like so I could have a clear guide when January (and its dear sales lol) comes.

But first I'd like to review of some of my old outfits (of the few ones I've got pics) and my evolution through time so I can share a starting point and have all your advice to begin with.

Of course I've got to say that I despise every single pic and attempt of outfit, lol. I'm just a noob and I can see the difference between those who really got the style in their hands and dominate it and make it look so easy! (Hallo you! :P).

Also, I'm in a "I want to burn my whole closet" mood, but I'm trying my best haha.

Outfit 1: October '10

This is the oldest attempt of outfit which I keep pics of in my computer after changing my hair color and trying some new stuff. Here I was combining two skirts to get something more catchy(?), and a hair accessory.

I don't really like how plain the sweater looks, and I believe it'd be better just changing it with a less "boring" one. Details like any kind of cute print or bows or whatever would have done.
Of course, same applies for the cardi, but I really don't think that's the problem.

Hair: I'd like it bigger. I didn't have a hair curler back then, so I tried my best just with the dryer. I think it looks somewhat cute, but not big and noticeable enough.
I was somewhat more focused on make up back then.

Also, maybe if the tights would have had a larger hole of net or more details it would have looked way better. More interesting for the eye.

And finally: ACCESSORIES! A bigger belt (with chains! like that d.i.a. belt with a star which omg I just love!) and necklaces!
(I didn't kinda censor my face on the first pic because it's not like it's visible lol)

Outfit 2: 12 November '10

When I found that smiling sweater in H&M I fell in love with it. I found it funny and trendy and whatever. Now I kinda hate it and it's been a bit less than a month, lol. What would I say here? I don't really like how anything looks.

Maybe tight-high socks would have everything look way better instead of those lacey white tights that just make my legs look like columns lol. Necklaces are one of my constant points of failure, and I wasn't wearing bracelets either in that pic, so this adds to the plainless. Maybe some huge white furry earmuffs would have made everything look better!

I don't really know what else can I say here.

Outfit 3: 18 November '10

I'm sorry, but I don't have a full body shot of this. I wanted to put it here because it's one of my first attempts to style my hair with the teaser!
I love that nordic print "poncho" thingy. This is one of the pieces I'd save and it's a pity I don't have a full body shot of a coordi! I'll try to make one soon.

Outfit 4: 09 December '10

No real highlight on the outfit here, even if I'm choosing this pic. I'd posted it because this was one of the first time that I liked how much volume did my hair end up with!
Same boring grey sweater, and a jean skirt which I ended up boring, but the outfit was incomplete by the time I took that pic!
Also, something funny that happened to me with those leggings... I had been searching forever some leggings like those. Like the Uniqlo ones. When I saw them at some store I was like "OMG I SO HAFTA GET THEM", but when I got home I realized that the holes just went to the knee, so If I wanted them to be through all the leg they'd be more like... Ovals. I felt so scammed... XDD

Outfit 5: 10 December '10

This is one of the first outfits that I start to like. It's simple, clean and it has two three of my favourite things: nordic print, tight-high socks and jean! I do look a bit chubby in this pic though, wouldn't know why. I'm aware of it lol. Anyway, it still lacks some accessories, like furry things, and better shoes. I wouldn't know if adding a belt here would be a good or a bad idea.

Outfit 6: 15 Dec '10

And finally, this would be my fav choice of all. I really like the tights, I really like the skirt and how do the knee-high socks and the boots look like together. I wore this with my (ridiculously short) H&M fauxtail (see the word game I did there? XDDDD), which is an accessory I love. As always, something for the head and a belt would have made it all look better. And a necklace!

Of course, I'm nothing near good but my point is to keep trying and improving a lil bit with each try.

I'm a bit sad because I wore some outfits which I might have liked a lot, but I can't find appropriate pics (not good quality enough) or no pics at all. To the left there's an example of poor quality pic.
And I look a bit chubby here too :(

From this small analysis I've seen that I repeat a lot necklace, belt and hair accessory (and earmuffs!), (and shoes, and nails, but that's a whole different story) so these will be my targets (aside from blondness lol) for my next magazine dissection and shopping spree!

As always, I'll appreciate any of your kind comments. ^_^
Take care!
